Free Summer Program Workshop: Secondary Data Analysis and the National Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program (NAHDAP)

The National Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program (NAHDAP) will host a course in ICPSR’s Summer Program titled “Secondary Data Analysis and the National Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program (NAHDAP)” in Ann Arbor from June 22-24, 2015.

The three-day workshop will support participants in planning and conducting secondary data analysis using data sets from NAHDAP. Sessions will include brief presentations focused on the nuts and bolts of secondary data analysis followed by hands on workshop sessions that include one-on-one consultation for conducting your own research. We will consider study design, measurement, data management decisions, selection and use of different analytic tools, best practices in written presentation of results for publication, and available funding opportunities for secondary data analysis projects.

Each participant’s experience in the workshop will be individualized to her/his own interests, background, and needs. Both SAS and R software will be supported and early career participants are especially encouraged to apply. The workshop can be used to develop a project based on data from NAHDAP or to make progress on a project already underway.

Prerequisites: Substantive interest in addiction and/or HIV. Application: Enrollment is limited to 25 participants. Apply using the ICPSR Summer Program portal.

Deadline: Deadline for application is May 3, 2015.
