The CRIS (Cross-Regional Information System) dataset was elaborated by Jean-Pierre Cassarino and Davide Calenda. The CRIS project is directed by Jean-Pierre Cassarino at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute (Florence, Italy). The main objective of the CRIS project lies in comparatively analysing return migrants’ patterns of reintegration back to Armenia, Mali and Tunisia. More precisely, it is aimed at understanding why some return migrants reintegrate back home better than others. 1095 interviews were carried out. Each interview was based on a questionnaire structured in three different migration stages:

  1. Before leaving the country of origin;
  2. Experience while abroad;
  3. Return to the country of origin and post-return conditions.
